Please note that this List is primarily directed toward trying to understand energy resource/technologies circumstances and impending changes in an objective and accurate manner.
It is not an activist or advocacy list except for the purpose of improving our understanding of energy and its relationship to our lives.
Accordingly, this list focuses on:
1) the exploration, identification, and qualification of our objective understanding of existing and potentially available energy resources and associated technologies in society;
2) the efficient and effective use of available energies for the maximum possible and continuing social benefit.
3) to promote high-quality, objective discussions of analytical quality as well as improved communications regarding the results of EnergyResources List subjects;
5) circumstances of the Energy/Money Transition, particularly in terms of how declining energy availability will influence society and associated financial systems;
5) to discover and distribute important energy news items and studies—including humor.
6). Address issues related to the quality of our understanding of energy resource/technologies and uses and their relationship to society. This includes--in addition to the natural difficulty of dealing with such complex and dynamic subjects, issues of denial, subterfuge, and down-right lying in the processes of knowing energy resource/technologies and their uses in society.
7. And while the EnergyResources Group will deal with ways of knowing and acting on energy efficiency circumstances, it is not about the circumstances of our world that result from changes in available energy, such as those addressed by the RunningOnEmpty, AlasBabylon, and other groups.
Notes:
Advocacy and "activists," for anything but improving our ability to know about energy resources technologies and uses will be aggressively discouraged.
Posts that stray too far from the above will be subject to rejection. All rejected posts may (and may not) be accompanied with a short comment on why such actions were taken.
Members exhibiting continuous obnoxious behavior will be banned from the site.
